Although there are several methods available for lip augmentation today, Dr. Rand’s preferred approach for best results and safety is to use temporary, not permanent, injectable fillers like Restylane® and Restylane Silk to deliver beautiful, natural results. We don’t do “duck lips” here, just the most beautiful, natural treatment for lips that will not be obvious to the world.
How many cc’s or syringes will I need for my lips?
Most people need two to three syringes, or 2-3 cc. One syringe of Restylane or Restylane Silk contains 1 cc of filler. We typically perform first treatment (if lips are the only focus) with a 1cc treatment, then 2 weeks later perform additional amount needed. This helps the client understand the 1cc results and avoid the undesirable “duck lip” results.
How much does a syringe of Restylane or Restylane Silk cost?
Our regular price for both Restylane Silk and Restylane is $530 but we often have specials. Because nearly everyone needs two or three syringes, you can expect a complete lip filler treatment to cost $1060 to $1590.
What specials or deals are available?
Check our current promotions page for special offers. If you have a CareCredit card, you can use that too.
Who does the injections?
Our expert injector Cami Holmberg is very experienced with fillers and performs all of our injectable filler treatments. Click to read more about Cami and see reviews from recent patients.
How long will a lip filler treatment last?
You can typically expect the results to last 4 to 6 months.
Are there any more permanent options?
Dr. Rand advises patients that permanent materials injected into the lips can cause disastrous complications that are virtually impossible to correct. Don’t be impatient and just continue to use the temporary fillers as they are the safest treatment available (and are adjustable as you age).
Who can benefit from lip augmentation?
If you desire fuller lips with more kissable area, then Restylane® injections can enhance shape and add volume to the lips, and may also correct several cosmetic imperfections:
- Thin lips
- Flat lips
- Wrinkles around the lips
- Asymmetry of the lips
- Vertical perioral lines (smoker’s lines)
Dr. Rand evaluates each patient on a case-by-case basis. You must be at least 22 years of age, and have no lip piercings. Patients who are prone to skin eruptions or cold sores near the lips are advised to skip lip augmentation and should notify Dr. Rand before proceeding.
After Lip Augmentation: What to Expect
Immediately following lip injections, your injector may briefly massage the area to ensure a smooth result and ice may be applied for 20 to 30 minutes. Many patients return to work or their regular activities immediately. You will see the results of lip augmentation immediately. The most common side effects reported are bruising and swelling, which typically subside in a few days.
