Radiesse

Radiesse dermal filler is a popular non-surgical treatment at our Bellevue plastic surgery center. Thisalt unique product is made of smooth, tiny calcium microspheres suspended in a water-based gel – a substance that is biocompatible and safe.

Who can benefit from Radiesse injection?

Radiesse is used for soft tissue augmentation in a wide variety of applications. The goal is to reverse volume loss that occurs in aging skin, leading to unsightly contour depressions and a gaunt appearance.

Radiesse promotes a process called “collagenesis” that stimulates your body to produce collagen for longer lasting results. If collagen has become depleted in your skin, you may be able to benefit from Radiesse. Dr. Rand uses this injectable filler to correct problems such as these:

  • Deep Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Depressed scars
  • Nasal contouring
  • Sunken cheeks

What to Expect During Your Radiesse Treatment

Using a fine needle, Dr. Rand injects Radiesse into the sub-dermal plane of your skin. To control discomfort, an ice pack, nerve block or topical anesthetic can be provided. After injection, the area may be massaged briefly to ensure smooth results.

What Happens After Radiesse Treatment

The results have been shown to last as long as 1 year. How long your results last will partly depend on what area is treated. You will see cosmetic improvements immediately and no downtime is necessary, so you can return to your normal routine right away. Possible side effects include minor bruising, redness, swelling and itching.
