Aging can bring unwanted changes in the neck area: skin becomes loose, fat accumulates, and the muscles begin to sag. Neck lift surgery is designed to reverse these changes by restoring the youthful, angular qualities of the lower face. This procedure is similar to a facelift but tailored to correct specific problem areas of the neck.
Who should consider a neck lift?
If you feel that excess skin and tissue around your jaw line is detracting from your appearance, you may be a candidate for neck lift surgery. Candidates for this procedure will meet conditions such as these:
- Extra neck skin
- Mediocre skin elasticity
- Loose muscles
- Loss of youthful jaw angularity
-
Good health and realistic expectations

What to Expect After Neck Lift Surgery
Recovery time is about two weeks. Discomfort is minimal after surgery and it can be controlled with a medication prescribed by Dr. Rand. Numbness of the skin is quite normal and should disappear in a few weeks or months.
You may be advised to keep your head elevated and as still as possible for a few days after surgery to help control swelling. A special compression garment will also be provided to help this process.
