How the Brow Lift Works
There are several techniques that can be used during this procedure. One of the preferred methods being done today is called the endoscopic brow lift. This procedure uses a small surgical camera to view the underlying tissues of your face. Small incisions (usually 5) are made behind the hairline, dissection is performed and the forehead tissues are lifted and remodeled as necessary. A special fixation technique is used (screws, staples or sutures) to maintain the brow position during the recovery period.
What to Expect After Your Brow Lift Surgery
Recovery time will vary depending on the technique chosen. The endoscopic technique is intended to be less invasive, so it may require a shorter recovery period than other techniques.
Medications will be prescribed to help manage discomfort during recovery. It may be necessary to keep your head elevated for a few days and you may experience some numbness and itching in the scalp. Fixation screws or staples will be removed in about 1 week. Normal recovery time is about 7-10 days, but you may need to avoid rigorous activities for several weeks.
